I Don't Surrender to Anyone

What a lie! We all submit ourselves to someone or something. When you turn on that TV YOU are deciding to submit yourself to whatever message the media happens to be promoting ant that time. When you listen to your friend's iPod YOU are submitting yourself to whatever your friend has on their iPod. Do you beleve you are perfect? If not then continues reading. We(me included) look to music and lectures and books and video games and what not to help ourselves with our imperfections. If we know we can't blast the head off of some zombie, we play a video game where we can. If we know we can't get any hot girls, then we look to TV shows where there are flirty hot girls. If we can't sing, we observe people who can. And the list goes on and on. The point is, if we are willing so easily to submit ourselves to the hotteset rapper, our best friend's and the latest porno, why not surrender to love. Why not surrender to life. Why not surrender to the ONLY person that can truly save us? Who and/or what do you submit to can lead you towards death or to true life. Why not choose life?

The DL on Doubt

Raising people from the dead. Healing the sick. Giving the blind sight. Walking on water! How did Jesus get to do these things? I mean he was flesh and blood just like we are. And I'm sure that flesh and blood then was the same as it is now, so why can't we do any of these cool things. Well it was necessary for Jesus to heal all of these people and walk on water and come back to life. And I believe that Jesus believed that without any doubt in his mind that the LORD was going to give him the ability to do what needed to be done at that time. This absolute faith was what allowed Jesus to do these absolutely amazing things. Peter is a great example of how we are today. When he saw Jesus walking on the water he said "If you are who you say you are then tell me to come to you" Jesus told him to come and Peter got out of that boat and began to walk on water towards Jesus. But then, he saw the wind and the waves. He began to focus more on the world around him than Jesus. Seeing the world around him and focusing on it dwindled down his faith and his focus and he began to sink. He called for Jesus to save him and when Jesus did he said "you of little faith" Peter began to lose focus and he lost his faith as a side-effect. Face it people, without faith in your LORD and without faith in yourself you will keep sinking just like Peter did.

Are we Christians

Yesterday in my youth group my pastor brought up a very good point. he believes that most of us are born-again and are going to heaven, but he also believes that most of us born-again believers are not fitting of the Title Christian. By Definition Christian means Christ-like or followers of Christ. Now in Jesus' time, being a follower of Christ meant giving everything you had in this world up and following Jesus and devoting your entire life just so that you could reach that one goal of being just like him. How many of us today have given up everything we own, everything we ever loved in this world just so that we could devote our ENTIRE lives to following and trying to be like Christ? So since I doubt that any of us fit that description how can we go around calling ourselves Christians? Think about it....

Armor Up!

All right. So I was reading Battlecry for My Generation (which is a great book by the way) and considering how easy it is to get off track in this world of sin, the only way to get rid of the media's trash for good is action. That's right A-C-T-I-O-N(for those of us who need a dictionary). We are the LORD's standing army and we've been at war for a long time. So what do we do now? Well since the LORD is our leader we need to learn from him and have him tell us what our assignment is. How do we learn from him and have him tell us what our assignment is? Well, you know that Bible ther in the drawer? Try opening it. And reading it. And even *gasp* learning from it. But don't only read it. Read it with a purpose. When you read the Word of God(I just so recently found out that words are used to communicate with people) you are communicating with God and in some way God will comfort you in a scripture somewhere. My purposes for reading my Bible are to 1) learn more about my LORD 2) get something more and be something better than what the world is trying to turn me into 3) find true hapiness 4) strengthen myself so that I can do what I must to save this media-driven generattion. If you're with me then armor up, grab your bibles and get ready for a scrap, cuz' when this generation breaks through, the devil is gonna have a fight on his hands!

Check it out

My friend Emily also has an amazing blog that I encourage you to check out. Her blog offers you a different point of view from mine(her being a girl and all, guys know what I'm talking about) and she's been at it longer than I have but we both notice what's going on around us and we both want to do something about it. So if you want to check it out her blog is www.giftoffaith.blogspot.com .

My Pledge to this Generation

From this day forward I will spend my body, spirit and mind; all that I've got to save this generation from the Devil's world. I will not let what God has given me got to waist. God gave me another chance to fight for what I love and so here I am today, fighting for this generation. Who's with me?
